Markforged Onyx is a high-performance nylon-based composite infused with micro-carbon fibers, offering excellent strength, stiffness, and a sleek matte black finish straight off the printer. It’s ideal for functional prototypes, end-use parts, and custom tooling. Onyx can be printed on its own or reinforced with continuous fibers for exceptional mechanical properties.
When paired with Continuous Fiber Reinforcement, it produces parts with strength-to-weight ratios comparable to aluminum.
Carbon Fiber is the strongest reinforcement, providing a strength-to-weight ratio that rivals aluminum—perfect for high-performance, load-bearing applications.
Kevlar® reinforcement adds impact resistance and flexibility, making it ideal for shock-loaded applications.
Fiberglass offers cost-effective strength and stiffness, while
HSHT Fiberglass (High-Strength High-Temperature) is suitable for parts exposed to higher thermal and mechanical loads. This combination of base material and fiber reinforcement allows engineers to produce lightweight, durable, and production-grade parts directly from the printer.
Formlabs offers a wide range of high-performance resins for the Form 3 series SLA printers, tailored to meet the demands of engineering, product design, manufacturing, and creative applications.
Standard Resins (Grey, White, Black, Clear) are versatile and great for general-purpose parts.
Tough 2000, Tough 1500, and Durable Resin provide varying levels of strength, flexibility, and impact resistance, simulating ABS or polypropylene.
Rigid 4000 and Rigid 10K are glass-filled resins for stiff, dimensionally stable parts, with 10K offering higher heat resistance.
Elastic 50A and Flexible 80A are ideal for rubber-like, soft or flexible components.
High Temp Resin withstands up to 238 °C, suitable for molds and heat-resistant applications.
ESD Resin safely dissipates static for electronics-related tooling, while
PU Rigid 650 delivers tough, impact-resistant performance for functional parts.
